The 4th International Fashion Week, Athens Xclusive Designers Week has been completed with great success from November 8-11 at the Conference Center of Ethniki Asfalistiki presenting the new collections of Greek and foreign Fashion Designers (Penelope Zagoras, Gaspard Yurkievich, Notis Panayiotou and Marina Zachou, Fatima Lopes, Emanuel Ungaro and many others).

Interestingly enough, a Hollywood actress Tara Reid debuted with her first fashion collection "Mantra".

The most important highlights of the Festival Organization of the 4th AXDW were the Launch party of the International Designer Angelos Frentzos with AmateurBoyz, the alternative Photo exhibition of Tassos Vretos and Konstantinos Rigos titled "UnfairyTales", the student artists of Vakalo Design School celebrating its 50 years of presence- that were inspired by the "Pink Ribbon" and designed T-shirts in a unique way and finally, the Samsung Pink Ribbon Charity Gala Dinner, an Xclusive Gala that managed to raise a significant amount of money for the purposes of the pan-Hellenic Association of Women that work for the information and prevention of breast cancer, "ALMA ZOIS". The New Designers Awards Institution was another important moment for the participating new talents' career and future. This year's winners were: Marina Avdeeva (Best Designer), Maria Daskalakis (Best Catwalk / Best Trendsetter Young Award).

Bei jedem Wetter muss man bei sich 2 Arten von trockenem Puder haben: ein loses und ein Kompaktpuder.

Loses Puder wird auf fluessiges Make-up oder Gesichtsgrundierung aufgetragen. Es „befestigt“ die Schminke auf der Haut und mattiert gleichzeitig. Um das Make-up zu jeder Zeit erfrischen zu koennen, muss man Wattestaebchen und Lippengloss immer bei sich haben.

Das Kontaktpuder wird helfen wenn das fluessige Make-up beschaedigt wird: man muss es zuerst mit einer Serviette trockentupfen, danach eine neue Puderschicht auftragen. Das Augen-Make-up kann man bei der Schmierung mit einem Watterstaebchen wieder frisch machen.

Lippenstift malt man nicht nach, man entfernt ihn total mit der Serviette und traegt das Lippgloss auf.

Olga Kurylenko was born in Ukraine, a poor post Soviet country that many still wrongfully define as a part of Russia. By “poor” I mean that the majority of people are still struggling with cold and lack of food despite the presence of free spirit. So did Olga. She was raised in a Ukrainian town by a single mother (a divorced art teacher) and a grandmother on a very tight budget. But it did not prevent her from becoming a part of a huge success story that began with modeling. As a teenager, she was discovered by a scout in the Moscow metro (Russia). Just like in that overplayed song by James Blunt “You Are Beautiful”…

At 16 Olga signed a contract with Madison agency and moved to Paris. Tough and brave. Soon afterwards she appeared on the cover of Glamour, Elle, Madame Figaro, Marie Claire and Vogue and became the face of Lejaby, Bebe clothing, Clarins and Helena Rubinstein.

At this time, Olga is a citizen of France and has 2 marriages on her record. The first marriage to a famous French photographer Cedric Van Mol did not last. The second one (to an American American mobile phone accessory entrepreneur Demian Gabriel Neufeld) is rumored to be challenged by distance but we can not confirm or prove it, so for now it will stay in the rumor category.

Stuttgart/Berlin – Ein Hauch von „Sex and the City“ wehte zum Auftakt der dritten Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin über der Hauptstadt. Filmgerecht fuhr die Schauspielerin Kim Cattrall alias Samantha Jones im weißen Mercedes-Benz GLK durch Berlin. Am Steuer war Topmodel Eva Padberg. Ihr Ziel: die Behala Halle im Westhafen. Dort besuchten die beiden modebegeisterten Stars die Schau des Fashion-Labels HUGO von Hugo Boss.
Nur rund zwei Monate nach der Deutschlandpremiere des Kinofilms „Sex and the City“ ist Kim Cattrall wieder nach Berlin gekommen, um die Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin erstmals live mitzuerleben. „Ich mag Berlin. Diese Stadt ist so voller Dynamik und Kreativität, der richtige Ort für ein internationales Mode-Event. Da ich die Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York kenne, war ich natürlich sehr neugierig auf Berlin – und ich bin begeistert“, schwärmte die Schauspielerin. Mit Eva Padberg hatte Kim Cattrall die ideale Partnerin für eine Stadtrundfahrt im neuen GLK. Anzahl der Modenschauen nahezu verdoppelt

Die Präsentation der neuen Frühjahr/Sommerkollektion 2009 von HUGO im Westhafen war die Eröffnungsshow der Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Die Hauptlocation dieses Mode-Events ist jedoch der historische Bebelplatz, der Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts der Geburtsort der deutschen Haute Couture war. Bis Sonntag werden insgesamt 26 Modelabels ihre neuesten Kollektionen zeigen. Darunter sind zahlreiche nationale und internationale Top-Designer, die erstmals auf dem Berliner Laufsteg präsentieren – beispielsweise Basso & Brooke, Eastpak und Scherer González.

„Wir sind stolz, dass es uns gelungen ist, die Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin und damit die Rolle Berlins in der internationalen Modewelt kontinuierlich auszubauen“, sagte Dr. Kristina Hammer, Director Global Marketing Communications Mercedes-Benz, auf der Eröffnungspressekonferenz. The anticipated King Tut exhibit is finally here! It's opened its doors to the history lovers over the weekend. And style appreciation was not left behind. Atlanta fashion community put its best foot forward... literally. Laced Up boutique, J Shoes and Prriya & Chintans Couture and Jewelry (their designs are seen these days on TV reality show "Atlanta Housewives") came together and presented their exclusive line of gladiator style footwear in metallic gold leather decorated with diamonds.

On November 11 media and VIP guests had an opportunity to preview the unique shoe designs during the "Fashion of Tut" media mixer in the Midtown restaurant Straits currently owned by Ludacris.

Luxury Reigns at New York’s Couture Fashion Week

September 2008’s Couture Fashion Week in New York City was a delightful three-day event of stunning fashion shows, top-notch entertainment and luxury art and product displays. The event, held in the elegant Majestic Ballroom of the Westin Times Square in the heart of the Big Apple, was well attended by diplomats, fashionistas, socialites and international press. In keeping with Couture Fashion Week’s tradition of presenting an international roster of distinguished participants, designers at this season’s event hail from Colombia, Russia, Turkey, Egypt, Albania, India, Australia, Romania and the USA.

Leading Romanian couture fashion designer Romanitza returned for the third time to Couture Fashion Week New York on September 7, 2008 with the presentation of her latest collection. Each successive collection from this gifted designer has surpassed the last, and she continues to make inroads into the USA luxury market. “This was Romanitza’s strongest collection so far,” says event producer Andres Aquino. “Her palette and combination of colors was pure spring and her fabrics were exquisite choices. Overall feminine and classic at once.”

Turkish designer Nedret Taciroglu made her much-anticipated USA debut during New York’s Couture Fashion Week. The inspiration for Nedret Taciroglu's latest collection was “Sultans’ Signatures.” The Sultans’ Signatures were not created by the Sultans themselves, but by calligraphers during the Ottoman Empire. Each one is distinctive and reflects the ruler’s power through intricate designs featuring both letters and patterns. In order to introduce the Sultans’ Signatures to the world, Ms. Taciroglu blended history with modernism over a period of five months to produce a beautiful 30-piece collection. She used the signatures of Mehmet the Conqueror and Suleyman the Magnificent, among others. The designs also feature Swarovski crystals, chiffon and draping as well as the use of red and beige emphasizing the glory of the Ottomans.

Katerina Bocci returned to Couture fashion Week with an elegant and stunning collection of jewel-bright colors. Ms. Bocci began her career and opened her own fashion atelier in her native Albania. In 2001 she moved to the United States and quickly became known in the Detroit area for her impeccable fashion designs, selling to a growing savvy and sophisticated private clientele as well as to boutiques such as Kleinfeld in New York, Roma Sposa and Alessandra Bridal in Michigan and Sposaitalia in Canada. Ms. Bocci was named Best Designer in Michigan by Hour Detroit Magazine, WDIV Channel 4 and Strut Magazine. Her designs have been featured in The New York Times, Hour Detroit , Style and Inside Weddings magazines, and she is a favorite designer of TV news anchors Lila Lazuras and Rhonda Walker, Miss Universe 2006 Zuleyka Rivera, Miss Albania 2007 Sadina Alla and singer Fergie.

Designer Nina Gleyzer draws inspiration from her love of nature’s beauty and delicacy: the softness of a flower petal, the intricacy of a spider web, the billowing of wheat in the wind. Through her skillful use of a palette of feminine lines, dramatic colors and innovative fabrication, Ms. Gleyzer choreographs a dance of elegance and sophistication. Her latest collection is entitled Symphony #1: Purity. Love. Wisdom. A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Ms. Gleyzer is a master of couture design now based in Atlanta. “Nina brings poetry to fashion,” says event producer Andres Aquino.

A native of Colombia now based in Miami, Cecilia Perez has been creating unforgettable feminine fashions for over 24 years. Her driving passion is her love of art drawn from her experience and training in watercolor and oil painting as well as sculpture. Her artistic talents naturally progressed into sewing, knitting and fashion design. The gifted designer creates her couture fashions through draping over mannequins. Her decidedly contemporary designs are characterized by an exquisite attention to detail, impeccable construction and use of rich luxurious fabrics. She also designs one-of-a-kind bridal gowns. Ms. Perez received thunderous applause at Couture Fashion Week for her beautifully crafted collection.

Chicago-based designer Sararose Krenger debuted her high-end line of evening wear entitled "Sararose" at Couture Fashion Week. The passion and pizzazz behind Stix and Roses, Ms. Krenger has been designing and styling for a number of years. The collection featured sweetheart necklines, bold collars, fishtail skirts, and body-hugging silhouettes. A key element in this collection, texture was seen in the mixtures of such fabrics as satin, silk dupioni, and tulle, as well as in the use of tufting. Colors ranged from soft champagne gold, burgundy, luminous silver, emerald green, and of course, the ever-sophisticated and luxurious black.

Turkish haute-couture designer Rabia Yalcin has already achieved unprecedented recognition for her glamorous designs and talent for detail. In her newest collection Ms. Yalcin explored the use of natural fabrics and organic fibers created from recycled materials that showcase the luxury in earthly-friendly initiatives. Ms. Yalcin’s new work represents a synthesis of the Eastern Roman and Ottoman Empires. She blends the strong silhouettes and powerful colors of the West with the delicate intricacies of the East, for a collection inspired by the rich cultures that inhabited the city of Istanbul. In her second appearance at Couture Fashion Week, Ms. Yalcin was presented with the event’s first “Eco-Friendly Fashion Designer Award.”

Cairo-based Soucha Fashion is considered one of the leading fashion trendsetters in the region. A native of Tunisia, Soucha is a talented young fashion artist and graduate of the famed Academia Della Moda in Florence, Italy. Soucha Fashion operates two exclusive Cairo boutiques and caters to a celebrity and fashion-savvy clientele. The recipient of numerous awards including Face of Africa - Best Designer, Soucha made his USA Debut at Couture Fashion Week with a head to toe dramatic collection.

The fashions of the Washington DC-based Laura Williams are characterized by an original style and exceptional craftsmanship. A number of guests at her show commented on the versatility and wearability of Ms. William's beautifully rendered fashions.

A native of India, designer Sushma Patel showed an ethereal collection in her second appearance at Couture Fashion Week. Ms. Patel's designs are a unique and stunning Indo-Western fusion characterized by impeccable craftsmanship and quality and an innovative approach to cut, draping and the use of opulent fabrics embellished with hand embroidery and crystals. Designs are meticulously handcrafted in India and sold at the designer’s own boutiques in Atlanta and in Mumbai, India, as well as at a number of upscale boutiques in India and other countries. Her goal is to achieve international recognition as a cosmopolitan designer appealing to a wide spectrum of consumers. She has a loyal and growing clientele around the world including a number of prominent film stars.

Andres Aquino's inspiration for Spring 2009 is the muses and nymphs of Greek Mythology. The collection is reminiscent of the designer's childhood when his imagination was fueled by those timeless stories and legends. Mr. Aquino's "Muse Collection" features fluid feminine gowns adorned with fine Japanese and French lace. The designs reflect the rich natural colors of forests, rivers and fountains where the Muses and Nymphs dwelt. A variety of artistic elements, including dance and poetry, come together in the creation of the unforgettable designs.

Beautiful ready-to-wear collections were presented by designers including:

Edwing D'Angelo whose dramatic Antarctica-inspired designs are entitled "Aquactica".

Ann Spoyer who uses fabrics made of fine, natural fibers dyed in chic colors and often decorated with elegantly embroidered designs and/or prints.

Australian designer Cristina Nitopi presented designs for both men and women collections with an urban edge.

New York-based menswear designer Prince Williams 3rd showed a colorful and whimsical collection with a British public school flavor.

NACHIKET BARVE CREATED FASHION GEOMETRY OF A SUPERIOR KIND AT LAKME FASHION WEEK

Mumbai October 20, 2008: Nachiket Barve known for his fabric manipulation once again brought a touch of superior fashion geometry to the forefront for Spring/Summer 2009 at Lakme Fashion Week.

Creating clusters of flowers, working with cuts, panels and seams, Nachiket played with contrasts in beautiful rich shades. His colour story was vast with azure, purple, framboese, cerulean, sap green, mango, crimson gold, flesh, ecru and chalk for shot silk organza, chiffon Lurex, tissue georgette and dupion coming together effortlessly.

The silhouettes were simple yet elegant for day and evening wear using colour blocking and paneling along with cutwork for peek-a-boo lining. Detailing revolved around floral motifs cutwork, hand drawn embroidery and textured pleats and lace effects which are Nachiket's specialty.

Impeccable tailoring gave the simple silhouettes a truly classic touch for dawn to dust wear. The eye catchers were the opening paneled silk dress with textured applique, the dramatic lotus cutwork blouson dress, the utterly feminine degrade dye georgette dress with stylish zigzag applique at neck and the pleated silk dress with volume at hem.

The cutwork was so immaculately executed that it almost looked like the fabric texture. The ombre dyed dresses had a delicate appeal and the shifts, waisted dresses and the smocks were ideal for timeless fashion options.

Nachiket Barve once again created a collection which could give the Indian as well as the western woman the confidence to make a great fashion statement throughout the season and even many years later.

The Second Annual Haute.lanta Fashion Week Takes Atlanta by Storm!

Atlanta, GA -The Second Annual Haute.lanta Fashion Week (HLFW) otherwise known as, Atlanta’s Official Fashion Week, kicked off with a night of mixing, mingling and meeting. There were plenty of celebs and most importantly models and bottles at VIA restaurant and lounge Sept. 16,2008! Press came out to meet and greet while interviewing and taking photos of the Pre-Fashion Week event.

A star-studded Opening Night was held at the historic Atlanta Civic Center in the heart of downtown Atlanta, on Sept 18, 2008. The Red Carpet was graced with celebs and socialites like; Samantha Brown, of the Travel Channel, who also modeled that night. Real Housewife of Atlanta Lisa Wu Hartwell and NFL husband Ed Hartwell, Host of BET J "Tears, Shears, and Beauty," Derek J., actress Demetria Mckinney of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, who also modeled, and celebrity hairstylist Natasha Simmons, all were seen on the HLFW Red Carpet. On this night designs by Vivian Compton (www.naomanerette.com), Maria Harper, Essence, and more were featured to an audience of tastemakers, trendsetters, and Atlanta’s elite and affluent. The highlight of this evening was a Barack Obama inspired couture dress by Vivian Compton. At intermission guests were entertained by the sounds of Atlanta Hip Hop, Pop, and everything in between artist, Prema Lanay.

Saturday held host to the Urban Chic Show, which took place at Luckie Lounge. This night showcased men’s wear such as Sol Munki (www.solmunki.com). Urban Chic was hosted by celebrity hairstylist, Natasha Simmons (www.technique101.net), with guests like Freekey Zekey and the 730 Dips in attendance previewing the Dipset Nostic line (www.nosticapparel.com).

AXDW is coming to town (Athens, Greece) on November 8-11 at Megaron Ethnikis Asfalistikis, celebrating the Spring / Summer 09 Fashion Collections. 18 Top Fashion Designers, 8 New Designers, an alternative Fashion Party, a unique Photo Exhibition, 20 Artists in Live Performance, DJ’s, Radio Producers, Live Booths, Competitions, a Bright Celebration of a memoir at the Fashion Industry through Greek Cinema and a Charity SAMSUNG Pink Ribbon Gala will be just some of the “Highlights” of AXDW this year.

This year’s Designers Roaster is:

• Emanuel Ungaro – the legendary “master” of the Haute Couture will present his men collection for Spring / Summer 09 designed by the Head Designer of Ungaro, Mr. Frack Boclet.

• Ioannis Guia – The Greek Designer lives and works in Paris and is participating at AXDW for the second time. A piece of his work has been exhibited in Louvre. Ioannis is the writer of the book “The sexual function of the occidental clothing” and he owns a company based in Paris since 1999.

• Kostas Murkudis - The successful designer is of Greek origin and works in Berlin. Kostas Murkudis worked as a Fashion Designer at Helmut Lang team for 7 years. One collection of his previous ones was based on Greek fabrics and at AXDW will present his men / women collections.

• Fatima Lopes – The impressive Portuguese Designer is presenting her collections at Paris Fashion Week. Fatima runs her own boutique in Paris. One of the most famous and impressive creations is the Bikini made of gold and diamonds!

• Tara Reid – The famous Hollywood actress and best friend of Paris Hilton, comes to Greece for the first time as a Fashion Designer. She presents her first Collection titled “Mantra by Tara” that consists of bathing suites and summer outfits with a special characteristic: the “energy” jewelleries that are accompanying her collection.

• Gaspard Yurkievich – The French Designer presents his work in Paris Fashion Week and celebrates his 10 year of professional career in Fashion at AXDW. Gaspard Yurkievich will present to the Athens audience his women and men collection for Spring / Summer 2009. Gaspard has cooperated with important Designers and International Companies as well as with many famous artists.

• Charles of London – The Designer “twin” Charles of London, changes every rule of Fashion in London for the last 5 years with his punk and alternative creations! At AXDW they will present their women and men collections.

• Elena Antoniades – The Greek-Cypriot Designer is based in London and her clients come from all around the world, from Los Angeles to Dubai and Saint Tropez.

• Penelope Zagoras – Penelope has her own Fashion House in Paris and cooperates with Famous International Models. She has collaborated with many well-known Fashion Houses abroad. At AXDW she will present her Haute Couture Collection for Spring / Summer 09.

• Fani Xenophontos – The Cypriot Designer is based in London and continues successfully her International career. Fani is now officially part of the Liberty of London and will present at AXDW for the second time.

• Notis Panagiotou & Marina Zachou – The dynamic Designer couple of the Cypriot Notis and Greek Marina has created jewels to show at AXDW. They have won awards for their creations in Pan-Hellenic and International Competitions. At their CV there are many worth mentioning collaborations such as this with the National Museum of Contemporary Art.

• Vicky Koulianou by Christos B. – The bright ex Top Model has conquered the catwalks of Greek and International Catwalks and since last April relaunched to the Greek audience her new “identity”, that of Fashion Designer. Vicky is presenting her collections for the second time at AXDW.

• Katia Delatola – The Greek Designer has already presented her Collection in New York, Paris, Barcelona and London and now comes to the catwalks of AXDW to present for the first time the “Twisted Classics by Katia Delatola” .

• Andreas Georgiou – The new and talented Cypriot Designer is last year’s winner at the New Designers Award, as the Best Designer. Andreas will present his Collection this November at the Glasgow Fashion Week in the context of his cooperation with AXDW.

• Levinia Konyalian – The superb Armenian-Cypriot Levinia has clients all over the world. This time, she presents her impressive installation at AXDW, themed as “The Femininity of the Woman”.

The 4th AXDW will host once again the Institution of the «New Designers Award». Um die richtige Gesichtsgrundierung auszuwaehlen, muss man sich auf seinen Hauttyp und die richtige Zusammensetzung der Kosmetik orientieren.

Fuer trockene und normale Haut empfiehlt es sich die Grundlage auf Silikonbasis zu verwenden. Silikon dient als eine wichtige Komponente, er sichert die Festigkeit der Kosmetik. Silikon hat einen einzigen Nachteil: er kann die Haut leicht zusammenziehen.

Welche Variante der Make-up- Grundlage waehlt man am besten?

Frauen mit trockener Haut waehlen lieber folgende Grundierung - ein dickes, dem Kompaktpuder aehnliches Mittel. Es ist reich an Oelkomponenten, dank denen das Hauttrockenheitsgefuehl weggeht.

Eine normale Haut erfreut sich des fluessigen Make-ups. Leich in seiner Textur und weniger fettig fuehlt es sich praktisch nicht auf der Haut.

Fuer die fette Haut passen die silikonkonhaltigen Kosmetikmittel nicht. Man verwendet lieber das mattierende Puder.

Eighth annual Air New Zealand Fashion Week Wraps up in Style!

The eight annual Air New Zealand Fashion Week has drawn to a close for 2008. The week long Fashion Event featured a total of 50 designers over the four day trade event, and has been described as a “huge success” by local and international media and buyers.

Managing Director Pieter Stewart is pleased with the week’s outcomes.

“I’ve had an overwhelming number of positive comments from the fashion industry and
media who are astounded by the caliber of the New Zealand Autumn/Winter collections.
We’ve seen great success with the international buyers who have picked up a number of
New Zealand lines for their retail stores, and we’ve hosted a number of international
buying agents who provide the gateway for designers to connect with multiple
international retailers,” says Stewart.

The week was covered by a long list of international media including one of Australia’s leading fashion journalists Patty Huntington, Oyster Magazine editor Paul Bui, Vogue Australia’s online fashion editor Damien Woolnough, Georgina Safe fashion editor of The Australian, Imogene Barron from Yen Magazine (Australia), Nylon Magazine (Japan) editor Hatanaka Tomoko, fashion blogger Bryan Boy (Philippines) and from the US - Vice Magazine fashion director John Martin and from Sportswear International, editor Christopher Blomquist.

Paul Johnson-Cauldron from Paper Magazine US described the event as “One of the most entertaining fashion weeks I’ve ever seen with so much to do and see,” and commented “I was really taken with Lonely Hearts, twentysevennames, Money Shot,
Crowded Elevator, Trelise Cooper and Deborah Sweeny and I’m hoping to work with a
number of these designers within media, styling and my fashion industry projects,” he
says.

Air New Zealand Fashion Week guests were also treated to the first ever Australian designer to hit the catwalk – Kirrily Johnson. The highly regarded designer described her experience in New Zealand as “the most amazing time with such friendly and supportive people” and received a flurry of media attention following her show on Tuesday morning.

Another new addition to the Fashion Week schedule was the Agresearch Show on Friday afternoon. This group collection show included top New Zealand designers
Annah Stretton, twentysevennames, Stitch Ministry, Zambesi, Hailwood, Liz Mitchell, Jaeha, Sera Lilly, Jimmy D and Salasai. The designers were given the
latest Agresearch fabrics to create two to three outfits for the catwalk.

“This really has been the best Air New Zealand Fashion Week that we’ve ever seen and I’m pleased to end the week on such a positive note with so many happy designers and delegates,” says Stewart.

Tipp 1: Tragen Sie Kostueme heufiger als Kleider. Je mehr Naehte auf Ihren Kleidern, desto weniger Aufmerksamkeit wird visuell den Koerperformen geschenkt.

Tipp 2: Waehlen Sie Kleider mit erhoehter Guertellinie, dies versteckt Ihre Bauch und Hueften.

Tipp 3: Tragen Sie keine Kleider mit Falten, sie verleihen Ihnen zusaetzliche Volumen.

Tipp 4: Ihre Farbenpalette- dunkelblau und braun. Dunkle Farben machen visuell schlanker.

Tipp 5: Tragen Sie keine Stretchsachen.

Tipp 6: Die Jackettlaenge soll bis zur Mitte der Huefte reichen, denn kuerzere Laenge verkleinert die Figur.

Tipp 7: Minimale Rocklaenge- 4 cm laenger als das Knie.

Tipp 8: Fuer Hosen waehlen Sie leichte Stoffe. Sowohl karriertes Muster als auch horizontales Streifenmuster verwendet man lieber nicht. Ihr Muster- vertikaler Streifen.

Tipp 9: Achten Sie auf Details. Manchmal aendert ein kleines Detail das ganze Image.

Tipp 10: Schoene Knoepfe und Schalen machen Ihr Aussehen unwiderstehlich.

The Latest on Makeup

Black, brown, gold and ... smoky. There is nothing else you should know this season. Elegant and feminine look from Yves Saint Laurent, much like the 20-s, suggested minimal and bold black or grey. Armani and Givenchy followed the same path with a few stylish details. Clarins supported the popularity of smoky eyes adding some warm colors and (as well as Dior and Estee Lauder). Classy Chanel featured some gold that was definitely dominant in the latest designer fashion shows. So, it looks like it's the perfect time to master smoky eyes techniques (if you have not yet done so). Smoky eyes video is just the right stuff.

Now that makeup is done, it's hair time. Having looked through multiple magazines and videos from various sources, we vote for volume. It is quite interesting that many designers chose similar hair style achived by very different approaches. But the point is: the bigger, the better (hair, of course). After all, Kate Hudson once admitted that her emergency solution was a blow dryer and deodorant in spray. Not that we recommend it but... whatever works for you.

Interview with the founder, eyewear designer Michael Nicolas

Olena: Designing eyewear: this is a very creative and unusual choice. Why eyewear?

Mike: I chose eyewear because I have been wearing glasses for a long time and could never find something that I'd be satisfied with. Also, I am an optician and am always around glasses, so I decided to create something that I would love to wear.

Olena: If you had to describe your collection in 5 sentences, what would you say about it?

Mike: I would say "edgy, colorful, elegant, comfortable and unique".

Olena:Wow, you did it in 5 words!:-). What type of customers is it designed for (any specific age group, gender, style)?

Mike: I design my eyewear for everyone. Anyone can find his or her own style within this line. Suavage brings diverse look to eyewear buyers.

Olena: What is the price range?

Mike: $189 to $289 retail price.

Olena: What is your prediction for the accessories fashion 2009 and how will it be reflected in your second collection?

Mike: My prediction for 2009 is 80's style, colorful eyewear with bold look (plastic black and tortoise). As far as my next collection goes, I always try to bring something different to people and Sauvage eyewear will definitely bring something different in terms of style and color for 2009.

Olena: Can you share any tips on how to correctly choose eyewear to look stylish?

Mike: Glasses should fit like a box. You want to go with your face shape to get the perfect pair of eyewear.

Olena: Where can one buy Sauvage eyewear?

Mike: You can find it in most stores in Boston and Montreal and on Sauvage eyewear website, of course.

Satte kalte Farben, Smaragd-, lila, violette Farbe, blau, schwarz und alle Schattierungen von grauer Farbe. Rote Farbe ist in den folgenden Variationen vertreten: kirschrot, Himbeer- oder satte Weinfarbe.

Zurichten:

Spitzen sind Herbst 2008 an der Spitze. Praesentiert in Hosen, Blusen, Roecken und Jacken machen sie Sie nicht nur elegant, sondern sexy.

Prints:

Es herrscht kariertes Muster.

Oberkleidung:

Entsprechend der letzen Gucci – Kollektion modern sind kurze Jacken. Goldener Brokat, schwarzer Samt, slawische Ornamente, teures Fell, gutes Leder und Knoepfe vom veraltertem Gold sind die unentberlichen Komponente des jetzigen Herbstes.

Laenge:

Hoeher als der Knoechel. Die Roecke erreichen in ihrer Laenge die Mitte des Unterschenkels. Je ueppiger sind sie, desto besser.

Sonia Rykiel – The Person Who Can Turn Your Fall Inside Out

It is not accidental that the Fall/Winter 2009 collection by Sonia Rykiel inspired me the most this time. Ms. Rykiel, a person who literally turned the style inside out by introducing her famous collections of clothing with outside seam, has no professional background in fashion design but has been on top of the runway world for over 40 years and inspires sheer creativity and spontaneity. Yes, she once again proved that talent rules. It was Sonia who inspired Robert Altman to make the famous movie “Pret-a-Porter” and wrote a number of books including “A to Z of Fashion”.

Maybe one will not write a book or make a movie having watched the video but the gentle touch of Sonia Rykiel’s style will definitely soften transition from summer to fall.
