Atlanta Urban Fashion Style

urban fashion and style

A special Thank You to Le'unamme Fashion Productions - Where Angels Walk among Us As a model and a great fan of fashion, I have always been very interested in all styles and trends: class of Chanel, creativity of Galliano, femininity of the 20-s and … the mystery of urban fashion. It is not accidental that I called the urban fashion style a mystery. It is much like a popular rumor: everyone hears about it all the time but no one knows exactly what it is. There is very little information describing this style, especially when it comes specifically to Atlanta urban style. So, I took a chance to interview the CEO and owner of Le'unamme Fashion Productions , a European company that I recently had a chance to work with. Mr. Emmanuel Scott shared some interesting facts:

Olena: What do you think the urban style is?

E.S.: The very fact that the word "urban" carries such mixed meaning points out how Americans of different races and generations continue to gravitate towards who is influencing who, and how. Not only is urban style fashion unique, it is also edgy & creative. You are never quiet sure what you are going to get, however, it is always something that is varied, in some instances risky but with enough pull to stand out. These urban style clothes all share a common thread: the designers are rooted in hip-hop culture, and most of the lines founders are black, which makes it a unique product; a product that continues to explode much like the industry to which it is connected evolves. Some interpret "urban" to mean a style culture rooted in rap music but with adherents who are black and of every other race. It is the ability of the designers to draw and get creative ideas from the environment and the culture of all people and use these ideas to produce designs that are able to capture the attention of a varied market.

Olena: Do you think Atlanta urban style is unique in any way?

E.S.: I do believe Atlanta Urban Fashion Style is unique. Yes, as the birthplace of so many music styles, current and most dominant music artists, Atlanta has the ability to draw first-hand from a colorful culture and its music. It's a city with untapped and hidden cultures; it is a city set to be a trend leader. Everything about Atlanta Urban Fashion Style is wonderland; it is different in its own way and full of new energy. Atlanta fashion still has much work to be done; it has accomplished a lot but still needs to spread further for all the rest of the world to know.

Olena: I know you recently saw an urban Atlanta collection "Memoirs of Fashionista: A New Beginning Style Event". Did you like it?

E.S.: I have an appreciation for it; the collection was variedly unique. The clothing had hints of color to create a fun, unique urban style; utilizing vibrant colors year round to illustrate contrasts; baggy, oversize styles, brightly colored hip-hop clothes that appeal to mainstream American youth.

Olena: As a professional in the fashion industry, what kind of future do you think the urban fashion style has?

E.S.: Urban style clothes and hip-hop music are intricately linked, as long as the future of rap is bright, the future of urban style clothing is intact; and bright it is. Like urban style clothing lines, rap music used to sell mainly to blacks and now rap is pop music's fastest-growing category. Fashion always exceeds our expectations; I would ultimately like to have the urban style fashion line viewed as the trends of the future to watch. Fashion industry has been extremely receptive to the urban trend that's dominated the marketplace for the past five years. While urban style wear may have started in the inner city, it is now mainstream.
